Jarrad Henderson

Jarrad Henderson is a 4X Emmy award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and dynamic educator who has produced impactful storytelling in large newsrooms, including the Detroit Free Press and USA Today, for over a decade. An innovative problem-solver, Jarrad has established himself as a respected industry leader and has served journalism through his roles as a Board member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Hearst Journalism Awards, and as an Artist in Residence at Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences. During his 2022-2023 Knight-Wallace Fellowship at the University of Michigan, he founded Pop Up Docs™, a pop-up style storytelling studio that provides skill-building workshops for aspiring underrepresented documentary filmmakers.
