The Future of Democracy Starts in the Classroom

The civic mission of public education has always been at its heart. As polarization grows, civic engagement declines, and we face one of the most critical elections in recent memory, this mission has only become more crucial. Join panelists for a conversation about how we can preserve and renew public education’s role in preparing students to constructively reconcile their differences and lead a rich civic life. Speakers will explore what it would look like for schools to be built around students, to be democratic spaces in their own right, and to build a renewed civic purpose for America.
