A Public Health Framework for Postsecondary Mental Health

Mental health has profound effects on academic achievement, persistence, and graduation. In this session, we introduce and discuss a tiered public health framework—inspired by the widely-adopted K-12 multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) framework—that can be applied to understand and address mental health needs within postsecondary settings. Using this framework, postsecondary leaders can develop a holistic, well-coordinated campus and community mental health system. Panelists will discuss how equity and trauma are considered at each tier within their unique institutional context.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
