Herman J. Felton Jr., PhD, JD
Herman entered the United State Marine Corps under a program (12-J) designed to give non high school graduates an opportunity to serve with the requirement of completing high school equivalency mandates within the first year after graduating military occupation school. While in Japan Herman sought to fulfill the 12-J program requirements and was diagnosed with dyslexia. This diagnosis commenced an educational journey that started at Edward Waters University, with a stop at the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate and culminated at Jackson State University with a Ph.D., in Higher Education Administration and Supervision. Prior to his appointment to the Presidency at Wiley College, Herman served as President of Wilberforce University.
