Dan Mahoney
Dan Mahoney joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008. As Vice President of
Broadcasting and Corporate Communications, he oversees the Thunder’s TV and
radio broadcast and production department, social media, website, and
corporate public relations. He also serves as executive producer of OKC Thunder Films.
Mahoney’s career experience includes eight years as director of communications
for Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating and five years as VP of Public Affairs for the American
Council of Life Insurers. In conjunction with the Gooden Group, he also worked
as a public relations consultant for the New Orleans Hornets during their two
seasons in Oklahoma City and handled PR for the reopening of the historic
Skirvin Hotel in 2007.
Prior to that, he spent 18 years in radio and TV news and sports reporting and
management in Virginia, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, including positions at
KTOK Radio and KWTV-9 in Oklahoma City.
Mahoney grew up in Philadelphia, where his father was a broadcasting pioneer.
He attended Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of New Mexico.
