Margaret Gray
I have been teaching English/Humanities for 28 years, as well as serving in the role of a Writing Center dean, class dean, an academic advisor, and a faculty advisor to a variety of student organizations. In the last 12 years, I have participated in developing interdisciplinary, project based, and experiential English and Humanities courses for grades 9-12 that incorporate local community partners into the curriculum particularly in an intensive format (a course that meets 9 am-3 pm, M-F, for 3 weeks). Titles of experiential and PBL courses include: Humanities 9: Talkin’ Trash (garbage and the environment; digital trash; psychological, physiological and cultural baggage); Humanities 10: Latino Immigration; Write Now!: How to Write to Get What You Want (business communication); American Modernism.
