JoLisa Hoover

JoLisa Hoover, a retired teacher with 26 years in Bryan ISD and Leander ISD, joined Raise Your Hand Texas in 2019 and became the teacher specialist in 2022. She focuses on teacher workforce issues and has policy experience as a U.S. Teaching Ambassador Fellow and Texas Teach Plus Senior Fellow. A finalist for H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, Hoover holds a master’s degree and received McMurry University's Young Alumni Achievement Award. She serves on McMurry’s Board of Visitors.
