Libbie Sonnier

Libbie Sonnier, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children. Prior to LPIC, Libbie served as a state director of two federal programs, where she managed multi-million-dollar budgets. She developed and implemented pilot early childhood programs to improve the efficiency and efficacy of direct services for children and their families. Libbie is the recipient of the Hulick Serving Spirit Fellowship Award for her commitment to individuals with disabilities and the Rotary Club’s Extraordinary Woman “Rising Star” Award. She has been recognized as one of New Orleans City Business 2020 Women of the Year, one of 16 Women Paving the Way for Louisiana’s Future by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana in 2021, and as ChangeMaker by the St. Charles Magazine in 2022.
