Khechara Bradford
Khechara Bradford, Ed. D is the Executive Officer of Specialized Learning & Services for the Houston Independent School District. She recently received her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy with an emphasis on Special Education from the University of Houston.
She has served in several leadership roles including the Deputy Superintendent of Providence Public School District, Chief of Curriculum & Instruction in Spring ISD, and as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Fort Worth ISD. She has 20 years of experience in public education and has also worked as a Literacy Teacher, Dyslexia Interventionist, ESL Instructional Coach, Special Education Supervisor, and Academic Director. She worked for Escambia County School District in Pensacola, FL before moving to Texas in 2003. While in Texas she has worked for Northside ISD, Spring ISD, and Fort Worth ISD. Furthermore, she served in a leadership capacity for the Providence Public School District in Providence, RI.
Both Khechara’ s mother and grandmother are retired middle school teachers. Her passion for access and equity stems from a belief that with the right tools all students will thrive as leaders of their learning. Khechara is the proud mom of two sons ages 13 and 16, who are both amazing students, athletes, and caring friends. With a focus on expanding opportunities for students to engage in meaningful and rigorous curriculum, she is a leader in student-centered learning.
