John Loehr
developer, educational consultant, and school principal. At Science Olympiad, he works with the program’s volunteers across the country to support the ongoing administration, development, and evolution of events. In addition, he leads the content creation and delivery for various educational resources, lesson plans, assessments, curricula, and workshops. In this capacity, he has been the point person on Science Olympiad’s CDC sponsored competitive event Disease Detectives which focuses on epidemiology and public health. John is the principal investigator on competitive grants awarded by NSF, NASA, DOE, and ED. He earned his MS in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a PhD in science education from the University of Virginia.
