Lisa Kopelnik
Lisa Kopelnik is a second-year student at the University of Virginia (UVA) and youth activist working to progress gender equity and justice in schools and beyond. As a high school senior, she launched and led a successful student movement focused on improving her school’s response to sexual violence by submitting a list of demands to the administration and organizing dozens of classmates; these efforts ultimately resulted in the implementation of a new sexual misconduct policy informed by student voices and concerns. Lisa has continued her advocacy in college and is involved in numerous organizations working for a restorative approach to gender equity and sexual violence response at the campus and state level, including serving as the Vice Chair for Sanctions on UVA’s Judiciary Committee.
