Evan Heit
Evan Heit is acting deputy assistant director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Directorate for Education and Human Resources. Trained as a cognitive scientist, Dr. Heit has conducted experimental and computational research on thinking and learning. He is particularly interested in data science and emerging technologies. At the NSF, he has played leadership roles in activities related to STEM education and broadening participation in STEM. Dr. Heit holds a BA in psychology and a BSE in computer science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a PhD in psychology from Stanford. He was a founding faculty member at the University of California, Merced, and prior to that he was a faculty member at the University of Warwick in the UK.
