Sonia Cabell
Dr. Sonia Cabell is an Associate Professor of Reading Education at the School of Teacher Education and the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University. Her research focuses on the prevention of reading difficulties among young children who are at-risk, particularly those who are living in poverty. Dr. Cabell has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, a book, book chapters, and literacy curricula, as well as has served as a Principal Investigator on grant projects totaling approximately $6 million dollars. Previously, Dr. Cabell was a second grade teacher and literacy coach. Dr. Cabell has a Ph.D. in Reading Education from the University of Virginia, a M.Ed. in Reading Education from Cameron University, and a BA in Education and Child Study from Smith College.
