Dr. Uhls is an internationally recognized, award-winning researcher, educator, author, and former Sony and MGM movie executive studying how media affects audiences. Her expertise covers both media content creation and the science of how media affects audiences. She founded UCLA’s Center for Scholars & Storytellers (CSS) which collaborates with leading scientists to provide research-based insights for content creators crafting authentic and inclusive stories for youth (ages 2-25). She is also an advisor on the Common Sense Media LA Council as well as the Kids and Family Council at YouTube.
