Ruth Robbins
Ruth Robbins is an artist, writer and progressive educator living in Houston Texas. Currently working in a public Montessori school and running a child-led art studio for 600 students aged 3-14, Ruth considers her pedagogy to be a part of her artistic practice. She holds a MFA in Social Practice from California College of the Arts. Her practice currently includes images, sound and text that explore sensations of loss, embodiment, lineage and desire. As an artist and a teacher Ruth considres joy and pleasure to be the most valuable metrics of success. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Harpers Magazine. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including dOCUMENTA 13 and Becoming American, an exhibition within the National Park Service.
