Alia Poonawala is the Executive Director for Hire Hopkins, an innovation office out of Johns Hopkins University focused on using design thinking to bridge equity gaps in hiring + recruiting.

She’s passionate about bringing cutting-edge industry practices to education, having led sales & marketing for alternative education startups like LearnerNation and Ironhack.

She spends her free time coaching startup leaders through her work with First Round Capital and Techstars, has been featured in publications like Inc. Magazine, and has delivered talks for organizations like Handshake, Microsoft, and Girls Who Code.
