Joanna Howard Ellis
Joanna Howard Ellis is an innovative clinical laboratory science educator with a passion for the robust utilization of lab professionals in global health initiatives through study abroad and community outreach. She works to promote cultural humility training for healthcare professionals and presented on the topic at the 2022 Annual Conference for The American Society for Health Care Human Resources Administration. She has led study abroad programs in Peru and Nicaragua. Her research interests include cultural humility, community health education, and service-learning. Joanna is currently pursuing a PhD in Adult, Professional, and Community Education at TxSt. Her dissertation will be on the narratives of community health workers and their perceptions of race/ethnicity in healthcare.
