Stanley Rodriguez

Dr. Stanley Rodriguez (Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel, Kumeyaay) is the Director of Kumeyaay Community College where he teaches Kumeyaay language, history, And culture. He is a founding member of Breath of Life, a Native-led organization supporting California
Tribes in their efforts to resurrect their ancestral languages. Dr. Rodriguez is a highly-regarded Tribal Elder and cultural authority who walks many worlds; as an educator and an elected Tribal Council member of Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel he is beloved in the community by Native and non-Native residents of San Diego alike, and also holds an Ed.D. degree from UC San Diego. He is one of 6 appointees to Governor Gavin Newsom’s California Native American Heritage Committee. He serves on the Board of Advisors of
