Dr. Kevin Foster is the Associate Chair of the African and African Diaspora Studies Department at The University of Texas at Austin. With the support of his project teams, Dr. Foster engages a wide range of activities related to student achievement. He is an elected official serving on the Austin School Board, the founding Executive Producer of PBS Blackademics Television and he manages the Rather Prize in Education. He is past president of several national organizations including the National Black Graduate Student Association, The Council on Anthropology and Education, and the Association of Black Anthropologists. Over his career, Dr. Foster has worked in schools and in local, state and federal government, founded a non-profit organization, and authored dozens of publications.
