Brittany Patrick
Brittany (She/Her) is a doctoral candidate in the department of Special Education at the University of Maryland College Park. As a Project PROPELL sponsored scholar, she studies culturally-sustaining literacy interventions for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Brittany has served as a special education teacher, general education teacher, and school leader in North Carolina, Washington, DC, & San Antonio, TX. Presently, Brittany works for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education in Washington, D.C., where she develops special education policy for the city of the District of Columbia. Brittany has also served as an independent curriculum consultant for non-profit organizations, public, and private schools and recently founded Umoja Collective LLC, a special education
