Michael Dando

Michael Dando is an assistant professor of Communication Arts and Literature in the Department of English at St. Cloud State University. His research interests include culturally relevant pedagogy, as and the intersections of popular culture and critical theory. Particularly, his research examines ways youth employ various cultural forms, including Afrofuturism, hip-hop, and comics to create social, cultural, and political identities that generate educational opportunities for sustained, critical, democratic engagement for social justice. His work has been featured in various academic journals including Kappa Delta Pi Record and Learning, Media and Technology.
