Jon Chin is an educator, software engineer, social entrepreneur, poet, and 2nd dan black belt. His greatest concern is how to leverage breakthrough technology to address the human condition in new, illuminating ways. He is the founder and CEO of Share Meals, a pioneering hunger tech organization building software and hardware solutions to boost food security in the US and beyond. He currently designs and teaches computer science curricula at Medgar Evers College in partnership with the New York City Tech Talent Pipeline, a $10 million initiative to prepare NYC college students to serve in high quality, local tech jobs. Jon is also passionate about teaching with the most vulnerable populations, having taught 10+ years of adult education in the poorest NYC neighborhoods, including in the Rikers Island Women's Prison. Jon's classrooms are often attended by laughter, so much so that they are sometimes asked to pipe down.
