Veronica DeWitt
Veronica DeWitt officially began her dance training in 2003 at the University of Oregon as an undergraduate freshman with little experience. She studied modern and ballet, and made it into the touring company by senior year. Upon graduation in 2007, she accepted a job with Dancing People Company (Ashland, OR) where she was a full time company member for 7 years. In addition to ballet and modern, she started studying contact improvisation, aerial dance, and teaching as a part of her practice. She began working with Alito Alessi and the DanceAbility method (DA) in 2015. After doing the month-long DA teacher training in Austin, TX she moved to Austin and began working as a freelance dancer. In 2017, she completed Master Teacher certification for DanceAbility. Since living in Austin she has developed deep connections in both the traditional and non-traditional dance worlds. She now works and trains as a modern dancer, contact improviser, aerialist and inclusive dance practitioner.
