Mark Lombardi

Dr. Lombardi is the 10th president of Maryville University and has led the institution since 2007. During his tenure, Maryville has more than tripled enrollment to 10,000+ students from 50 states and 60 countries. The university was named an Apple Distinguished School for 2021 - 2023 — the third such recognition — for leadership & excellence in providing students with a high-tech, mobile learning environment. In 2020, Maryville was noted as the 2nd-fastest-growing private university in the nation according to Chronicle of Higher Education. Recently, Maryville achieved national university status, including ranking in the top 15% of universities for ROI as determined by Educate to Career. Dr. Lombardi is an author, publishing several articles and four books. He is also the co-author of Pivot: A Vision for the New University. He earned a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in political science and international relations from The Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree from Purdue University.
