Michelle Wallis
Michelle builds public-private partnerships that accelerate innovation and enhance opportunities for tens of thousands of students served by 125 schools in Austin ISD, including the district-wide expansion of the social and emotional learning initiative and the revitalization of the Austin Ed Fund. Prior to her appointment, she served as the founding Executive Director for the Ann Richards School Foundation and the Senior Director of Community Investments at United Way’s Austin Chapter. She started her career in direct social work practice, serving children in the foster care system.
Michelle holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Texas Lutheran University. She lives in Austin with her husband and two children where she enjoys running, live music and swimming at Barton Springs.
