Kim’s passion is in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in education, particularly in examining how racial and equity literacy empower individuals to act collectively to disrupt inequities in organizations. Kim also provides leadership as co-facilitator of the LGBTQ+ Colleague Resource Group, an employee resource group for LGBTQ+ members, and provides trainings and workshops on equity related topics and seminal books such as White Rage and Caste. Kim is a volunteer facilitator for Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ), a national group that calls on White people to participate in racial justice work. Prior to her work at NWEA, Kim built upon her 8 year teaching career and worked for educational technology organizations to create content and professional development to support teachers and students.
