Alhassan Susso
Alhassan Susso is a world-renowned educator, author and speaker who has devoted his career to transforming the lives of young people facing difficulties. Born in The Gambia, Alhassan migrated to America at age 16.
Alhassan is the 2019 New York State Teacher of the Year and the 2020 NEA/Horace Mann National Educator of the Year. He was also named in 2017 as one of "The Top 50 Outstanding Educators in the World" by the Varkey Foundation's Global Teacher Prize.
Alhassan has published numerous articles including “Peeling Away Cultural Cataracts to Reveal Humanity’s Beauty,” “What Our Students Need to Learn” and most recently, “The Reinvention Schools Really Need.”
