Antonnet Johnson, PhD
Antonnet Johnson earned her PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English from the University of Arizona, where she co-founded a Usability and Play Testing Lab, taught writing courses, worked as a Writing Program Administrator, and honed her research and evaluation skills. After graduating, she taught in the Professional Writing Program at Purdue University, where she taught a Games and User Experience course and began to explore opportunities to apply research and design skills beyond the academy.
In 2018, she joined the Participatory Budgeting Project as a Mellon/American Council of Learned Societies Public Fellow and has since been retained as staff and promoted to Director of Research and Design. Her work facilitates the growth of participatory democracy and advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion by using research and design to enhance the ease of use, and accessibility of PBP services and processes.
