Sammar Parham is an animal lover and youth mentor from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Sammar is a rising freshman at Washington University at St.Louis who has guided and mentored people in her community throughout her life.
Her mentorship capacity is exemplified through her experiences volunteering as a Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence buddy, serving as a Baton Rouge Youth Coalition fellow and volunteering as a Learning Mentor helping freshmen develop study skills.
Sammar’s passion for education can be seen in her completing high school a year early and earning the top grade point average in her graduating class. She participated in a wide range of extracurriculars ranging from serving as the recruiter for her high school robotics club for 2 years to volunteering to help kids with disabilities learn to ride horses.
Sammar is eager to learn and eager to guide her peers in learning.
