Jason Orr

Jason Orr is an educator with deep roots in the community of Pittsburgh. He has worked in the field of education for over 10 years. Mr. Orr currently teaches Middle School Social Studies at Propel Homestead Charter School. He is also co-founder and host of Extraordinary People Next Door (EPND) podcast which features changemakers in the Pittsburgh area and beyond. Mr. Orr is one of 20 Black and Latinx educators selected to participate in the Shifting Power in Educational R&D initiative. With the support of his research partner Dr. Kim Floyd, he is leading a book study with his 7th and 8th grade scholars and studying its impact on their self esteem and cultural identity.
