Dr. Nero is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Education at UNO. He has worked for Raytheon Services Nevada, Bechtel Nevada, and Hunt & Hunt Engineering. He earned his Master’s degree in Special Education and worked in alternative education and STEM education at Omaha Lewis & Clark Middle School for 11 years. During those years, he created and taught a STEM-based elective course for nine years. While there he worked collaboratively with the UNO College of Education and the Peter Kiewit Institute to develop and implement the use of robotics as an educational platform. he became an Instructor in COE in 2014. And, in the Fall of 2018, he attained my Doctorate in Educational Administration with a focus on K-12 Engineering Education from UNO. He currently teaches and develop teacher education courses for pre-service teachers, engineering education courses for in-service teachers, and use high altitude ballooning as an educational platform for secondary and college students.
