Margaret Wilch
Margaret Wilch taught biology and research methods at Tucson High Magnet School for 26 years and is now SARSEF Director of Research at Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF), a STEM education nonprofit. Throughout her teaching career, Wilch sought out research opportunities and incorporated what she experienced into her teaching and classroom, creating unique learning opportunities and student focused programs with the common theme of doing science. From 1995 to 2018, Wilch developed and directed the THMS Research Methods program, working with hundreds of students on independent investigations and data collection and forging many lasting collaborations with UArizona researchers and students. At SARSEF Margaret continues that work, supporting research opportunities for students from across the state through the SARSEF’s virtual and in-person Students Taking Advantage of Research (STAR) Lab program.
