Johnnie Thomas

Dr. Thomas currently serves as Superintendent of Rich Township High School District 227 in a suburb south of Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining Rich Township in 2017, Dr. Thomas was superintendent of Community High School District 115 for five years and Associate Superintendent of Township High School District 214. He also previously served as Executive Director for Student Services at Valley View School District 365U. He started his career as a social worker for Chicago Public Schools. Dr. Thomas earned an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from DePaul University, a MSW from Loyola University Chicago, and a BA in Sociology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
