Callie Higgins is a materials research engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, part of the U.S Department of Commerce. In this role, she works with government and private sector leaders in 3D printing technologies to eliminate microscopic weaknesses in the material. Ultimately, her research could lead to advancements in the development of replacement body parts and organs.
Beyond her research, Callie established the Front Range Industry and Postdoc Summit Association, an event that brings early-career scientists together with representatives from industry to foster collaboration, mentorship, and employment opportunities. She earned a BA from the University of San Diego and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder, both in electrical engineering.
