Doreen Thomann-Howe
Doreen Thomann-Howe has dedicated her career to addressing the citywide challenges of poverty, mental illness and homelessness. Today, she is the Deputy Commissioner of Family Services, where she leads and oversees the NYC’s provision of shelter and services to families with children experiencing homelessness, with thousands of families able to move out of shelter into permanent housing during her tenure. Doreen is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in providing clinical and program oversight for government agencies and non-profit social service providers. Doreen’s passion and life’s work is dedicated to give children and youth the best opportunities to realize their dreams.
