Lifelong Philadelphian who traces his culture to the Island of Puerto Rico. Carlos’ background is in Secondary Education with a concentration in African American and American History. He is currently an educator at One Bright Ray Community High School(OBRCHS). He has worked there for the past seven years and has brought many extra curricular activities to the school community. Carlos has partnered with Students Run Philly Style(SRPS) to bring the program to OBRCHS. He managed the program for five years and mentored over 30 students to participate in the Broad Street Run. After SRPS Carlos decided to create his own outside of school time program that teaches volunteerism, entrepreneurship, mindfulness, and content creation to youth left behind by mainstream institutions. The program is called We Love Philly and after completion of the program students can earn credits towards their high school diploma.
