Melaina Wilkin

Marketing Specialist
ACC Continuing Education

Melaina Wilkin was raised in Tucson where she attended one of the best high schools in the US and then taught at one of the lowest-performing high schools in the city. It was these two experiences that helped form her educational philosophy and passion for helping young adults.
She always told her students they should have the skills to go if they ever want, but those same skills can be applied to other careers and training where the end goal is not always a degree. Once she moved to Austin, she then merged her passion for education and volunteering and worked at Region XIII and Asian Family Support Services of Austin. She currently works at Austin Community College Continuing Education coordinating their marketing, which includes working with area high school students helping them discover their post-secondary options.

She is also very involved in the non-profit world as a volunteer. She has volunteered for Latinitas, Con Mi Madre, St. Louise House, Gold Ribbon Rescue, is a Sustaining member of The Junior League of Austin and she is a graduate of Leadership Austin, Essentials Class, 2013. When not working or volunteering, she can be found exploring Austin with her husband, two kids, and golden-retriever mx, attempting to pet all the dogs she meets.
