Kathy Crowley brought her high-tech and non-profit experience to found Readability Matters, a Tech-for-Good non-profit focused on shifting reading outcomes for adults and children. Her engineering background has motivated the organizations’ commitment to research-informed solutions. Kathy is driven to accelerate innovations in reading because better readers are more confident and have more educational, career, and life opportunities.

Previously, Kathy held global technology leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Company and served on the boards of several international non-profits, including a $2.2M Gates-funded cross-organizational program dedicated to advancing women's economic empowerment.

A California native and University of Santa Clara alum, Kathy resides in Los Gatos with her husband, Michael. They have three children. Kathy is passionate about readability, hiking, and her two Cavaliers, Peyton and Tucker
