Brittany Hogan

Brittany, a Chicago native, holds a BA in Psychology from Hampton University and an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis. She began her career in St. Louis nonprofits before transitioning to education. As the inaugural Director of Educational Equity & Diversity for Rockwood School District, she led the development of district-wide equity initiatives and oversaw programs like VICC and racial desegregation efforts. Her work intersected with critical race theory debates, drawing national attention. Partnering with author Nic Stone, Brittany co-founded Empathy in Equity, promoting empathy in education through literature. Appointed to the St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education by Mayor Tishaura Jones in 2022. Now, Brittany continues advocacy through her consulting firm, BTheGrowth.
