Leading with Empathy & Sugar in the Time of COVID

Date TBA

All things considered, losing taste or smell to COVID is minor. Yet when tasting coffee or smelling bread baking, our humanity is affirmed. COVID isolation demands shared, visceral connection. Any leader who misses the opportunity for people to come together and feel a nourished sense of community, is not leading--they are simply managing. As I watched the dessert truck park on our campus and 500 people line up 6 feet apart, I understood Anthony Bourdain’s “beautiful intimacy” of a shared meal.
