Building an Equitable School Leadership Pipeline

What happens when you define success in terms of equity? We know that building and supporting a diverse education workforce leads to better academic outcomes for students. Early results of KIPP’s Principal in Residence program demonstrate that when you create pipelines and programs focused entirely on whether there is equity of access, progression, and experience, it pays off by nearly eliminating selection bias and increasing the number of leaders of color in school leader development programs.
