Hellen Antonopoulos
Hellen is the Executive Director of the Office of Social Emotional Learning (OSEL) at Chicago Public Schools (CPS) & leads its strategic direction and staff toward ensuring all students are supported & engaged in their schools & develop lifelong culturally-affirming SEL competencies.
Throughout her career, Hellen has dedicated energy and efforts to those who are vulnerable – starting as a milieu therapist working with 3-6 year old children living in homeless and domestic violence shelters. She later became the Director of Mental Health & Trauma Services for a nonprofit that provided school-based services across the city. There, Hellen first partnered with CPS & was responsible for managing a variety of programs offered in schools, including: substance abuse education, individual and group counseling, to violence prevention services, & more.
She is a CPS graduate, has Master’s Degrees in Social Work & in Jurisprudence in Child & Family Law from Loyola University Chicago.
