Julia Barfield
Julia Barfield is the senior manager of policy and programs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Center for Education and Workforce. Barfield leads the Chamber Foundation's early childhood education (ECE) portfolio, which includes educating and engaging the businesses community to invest in young children and their families. Prior to joining the Chamber Foundation, Barfield was the federal government relations manager for Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) and was responsible for their ECE portfolio. In that role she advocated for bipartisan federal legislation to invest in ECE. During her time with SCAN, Barfield was also a member of the Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Florence response teams. Prior to SCAN, she worked in several social services programs, including Head Start/Early Head Start and at a youth crisis shelter where she advocated for teens in the child welfare system.
