Alexis Llamas is a senior program associate at the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation. As part of the Character team, she is on supporting high quality out-of-school time (OST) programs in California and nationally that embed character building into their youth development practices. Prior to joining the Foundation, Alexis worked with limited resourced families in Oakland Chinatown via AmeriCorps and two community-based nonprofit organizations. Directing an after school enrichment program, she coordinated community resources and partnerships, developed intentional program design, and supported participant leadership and self-advocacy to ensure student success. Alexis earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
