Rick Brennan

Rick Brennan is a longtime teacher turned game designer and entrepreneur.

In 2012, with 13 years experience as a middle school social studies teacher behind him, Brennan founded Histrionix Learning.

Histrionix Leaning is an instructional design company that provides engaging learning programs, games and professional development workshops that support students as creators, teachers as designers and education as experience.

In a word, Histrionix brand is #eduPLAYtion, or the radical notion these days that teaching and learning should feel fun.

Currently, Histrionix Learning provides Teacher as Designer, a new design-thinking professional development workshop that trains teachers as instructional designers, so they can prototype, test and refine their own standards-aligned, project-based experiences with their students, for their students, over the course of a full school year.

And Histrionix expert staff guides and supports each teacher-designer through the process, helping them meet their own goals, build important new skills and create customized classroom content along the way.

In 2014, Brennan, a native Texan, was named a Microsoft Global Hero in Education for his lifelong commitment to teaching and learning.
