I attended public K-12 in rural Virginia Appalachia and attended the College of William & Mary on a need-based scholarship. After earning a master’s in secondary English education from Stanford University, I taught 8th grade English at a low-income school outside of Richmond, VA and served as vice-president of our local educator’s union. I also worked as Academic Dean with Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. After 5 years, I now work in IT in higher ed, empowering users to embrace tech.
