She was awarded the AASL Library Collaboration Award in 2019, a White House Champion of Change for Connected Learning in 2013, an advisory board member for School Library Connection, a former member of the Center for the Future of Libraries Advisory board and is a past president of the TCEA LibSig.

She blogs at Not So Distant Future, and is a frequent contributor to library and technology publications. She is a contributor to two books: No Shelf Required II and New Landscapes of Mobile Learning.
