David Johnson is actively engaged in understanding and articulating the forces shaping higher education. David guides design teams to align programming and planning with client strategy, develop design narratives for multiple audiences, envision hybrid space types and facilities, and advance design research that informs our practice and profession. With more than 20 years of experience in design leadership, Architect David Johnson has completed projects at university campuses throughout the US, including Harvard, Duke and Michigan. His work acknowledges the distinct character of each campus, while searching for the intersection of research, teaching and student life; he is convinced that this blend of activity holds the potential for increased collaboration, the blurring of academic boundaries, and enhanced institutional reputation. In 2015 David migrated from more traditional design practice to emphasize strategic engagement with his higher education clients.
