James Genone, Ph.D., is Associate Dean of Academic Programs at Minerva. He oversees strategy and development of curriculum and programs for Minerva's academic partnerships. He also works closely with the Product Team to develop and refine the technology we use for curriculum design, delivering instruction, and assessing student performance.

Prior to joining Minerva, Professor Genone was Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University, Camden. His areas of expertise include the philosophy of mind and cognitive science, and he has both taught and engaged in research on topics such as the nature of sensory consciousness, semantic reference, personal identity, and perceptual knowledge. Professor Genone earned his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a postdoctoral teaching fellow the in the Introduction to the Humanities Program at Stanford University.
