Carlos Duque is an Early Childhood Educator in Washington, DC. As a Librarian at a public school in the district he works to connect young children to books that validate their realities as well as connects teachers to book that promote their professional journeys. As a member of D.C. Area Social Justice Educators, Carlos coleads monthly workshops for educators throughout the DMV to discuss and work through strategies to promote anti-bias education, specifically through books. Since we began in June 2017, we have seen over 500 teachers and parents across the district! Anti-bias work has always been at the core of Carlos’ teaching practice working with young children in schools. Carlos values playing outside, boxing, running long distances, and swimming at the beach, things he learned to enjoy growing up in Miami, FL.
